How to Book
Sign In/Sign Up: Create your profile online (or access your pre-existing account).
Fill Out the Questionnaire: Our system will ask you a few questions about which services you're interested in which will prompt it to only ask you the necessary information for that service. A completed questionnaire is required for you to book your assessment.
Upload a Vaccine Picture & enter Expiries: You can take a snap shot of your veterinary receipt or vaccination form and enter in the date of their expiries - our system requires that vaccines be entered before it will offer you assessment spots. We will verifty the information but after upload, you can put in your appointment reservation once the information is entered.
Read and Sign the Woof! Services Agreement: Please ensure you read and sign the Woof! Services Agreement. We don't like fine print, we want to ensure our owners have a clear understanding of the rules, risks and responsibilities of all parties when partaking in dog daycare, boarding, grooming etc. If you have questions about the Services Agreement, feel free to reach out and we will walk you through it.
Once you've completed these steps, you will may select "Assessment Reservation" in our "Book Now" section and you will be able to find an assessment appointment date that works for you.
By Phone: Not a computer person? Not a problem, you can call us and we will ask you the necessary questions and fill out the form on your behalf to set up your account. Once completed we will email you the Woof! Services Agreement and collect your vaccination information from you or your veterinarian. After that has been recieved we will call you back and schedule your assessment.
Assessment Day Requirements
Book your Arrival Time: Assessment arrivals are booked in 15 minute windows to ensure we are able to take the time to give your dog the attention they deserve to be properly introduced to the group.
Length of Assessment: A minimum of 4 hours at the daycare for the assessment day is required (but you can leave them longer if you like). We believe that being thorough is important, and that requires we give your dog time to actually settle in and our staff time to gain their trust.
Plan B: We do require owners have someone available to scoop their dog within an hour of our phone call should their dog not pass the assessment. Late pick ups are subject to a late pick up fee of $15.00 on the commencement of each 15 minute period following their deadline. We don't do this to be difficult, we do this because your dog is likely overly stressed and its not fair to them to keep them waiting.
Assessment Day Details:
Your dogs assessment day is all about seeing how quickly they can get comfortable in the group, their play style, any issues that might be a factor such as fear aggression, over-excitement, greeting issues, housebreaking issues etc. Don't worry, we don't expect dogs to be perfect, but its important that we can keep them safe and the other dogs safe, and that's what the assessment is set up to suss out.
Assessment dogs are given extra attention from the staff, but we do not walk them on their assessment day for safety concerns (since we have a backyard, this isn't an issue). Staff takes notes throughout the day and will prepare a summary of information for you on pick up. We only call if they need to be picked up, but we do welcome owners to give their dogs a couple of hours to settle in and call to check in on how they are doing at a time that is convenient for them.
Thorough assessments are paramount to a good daycare experience for your dog. Daycare is very different than the dog park, so remember that this is an entirely new environment for your dog. Dog parks are open spaces (fenced or not, they don't feel enclosed), daycares have a finite amount of space (we call this 4 wall syndrome) and that can generate stress for a dog on their first day, as there is no escape. Simiarly, many dogs have been experiencing the same amount of isolation we humans have during COVID, so new spaces can be even more stressful. The pack is quite established in daycares, every assessment dog is like the new kid in school and that can be equally stressful. We are well aware of all of these factors and each of our staff is trained to introduce your dog properly and help them gain their confidence quickly if they need that little bit of support.
